The screening of The Victim at the historic River Oaks Theater in Houston, TX was a smashing success. Hosted by Odyssee Pictures and The Houston Film Critics Society, the screening featured live Q&A with director/star Michael Biehn (Aliens, The Terminator, The Abyss, The Rock, Tombstone) and producer/co-star Jennifer Blanc-Biehn (Party of Five, Dark Angel, Puncture, The Divide) and the the entire affair went over with roaring cheers and a standing ovation.
Nordling posted a great story covering Michael’s visit on Aint It Cool News: http://www.aintitcool.com/node/50891
And here’s a peek at the screening!
Larry went on to give some great insight as to what it was like to work with Christine, Some of the challenges faced by the cast and crew during production and some history behind the legend of Jacob Kell‘s origin. Visit the Odyssee Pictures booth this Memorial Day Weekend at Comicpalooza. Members of the cast will be on hand to sign free posters (while supplies last), and on Saturday at 6:45 pm there will be a special sneak peak followed by a Q & A.
Staci Layne Wilson of Horror.Com, Sci-Fi Wire and SciFi Magazine, published her 27 Top and Terrible DVDs of 2009 which included seven unreleased films in the mix, and Sweatshop made the grade as one of the “Tops!” Other featured titles included Carriers, Vampire Party, Fear(s) Of The Dark, The Children, and our friend Dave Parker’s The Hills Run Red.
Dai Green also published her Top 5 Independent Films to watch out for in 2010 list in her column, Horror Talk With Dai. Sweatshop topped the list at #1!
It is with enormous pride that I make the announcement that my debut feature film Domain of the Damned was named Fangoria Magazine’s DVD of the Month for January 2009! It should be noted that this was not a major DVD release. We put the DVD together completely in-house and marketed it exclusively online. This is the first time Fangoria Magazine has bestowed this title on, what is essensially, a completely indie release.
Stacy Davidson was featured in the May, 2008 issue of Fangoria Magazine! The enormous six-page spread also featured “southern-fried” horror filmmakers Mel House, Marcus Koch, Joe Davison and Gerald Nott. The feature covers five movies all involving Stacy Davidson, inlcuding Domain of the Damned (written and directed), Sweatshop (co-written and directed), Closet Space and 100 Tears (visual effects), and includes a sidebar story on The Fleshkeeper (cinematographer).
