IndieGoGo page launched for new feature "Vision"
July 7, 2010
Today, Odyssee Pictures launched an IndieGoGo page for raising initial funds for a new feature film entitled Vision. Stacy Davidson will shoot and direct, based on an original screenplay by Arthur Vincie. Vision will be shot on the cutting edge Canon 7D HD camera with 35mm lenses.
Vision is a story about Professor Lydia Arden, a robotics science prodigy who's miraculous creations have probed the bottom of the ocean and the surface of Mars. Now she's pushing her own knowledge to the very limits with her newest creation, the Military Autonomous Robotic Combatant (MARC). If she succeeds, her newest brainchild may effectively replace human beings on the battlefield with androids. Hopelessly stuck on the operation of the android's eyes and vision comprehension, Lydia's hermit-like existence is thrown into chaos when she is compelled to take on a student who reminds her what it's like to be human again and forces her to ask the question: how does a person who has lost touch with their own humanity teach an android to think like a human?
Through IndieGoGo, anyone can become a backer for the project and receive a variety of awesome perks including the final film on DVD, CD soundtrack, t-shirts, and they get better as the level of contribution rises. Money can be contributed for any amount, perks begin at just $10. Head over to IndieGoGo and check it out!

The film screened at the Tribeca cinemas just two days earlier to a packed house, turning away dozens of horror fans who had been standing in line for an hour in hopes of catching the film.
Screening before the feature were a number of short horror/sci-fi films, including Attackazoids Deploy!!, Sinkhole, Wheels of Death, Hunger, and Death In Charge.
When Sweatshop began to a pounding industrial beat, twirling glow sticks illuminated the darkened theater, followed by roaring cheers for every moment of blood and carnage.
Afterward, audience members and Sweatshop cast and crew mingled in the adjoining lounge where free "retro" Sweatshop posters were signed and handed out.

Other feature films that played the festival included Must Love Death, Maidenhead, Blood Night: The Legend of Mary Hatchet, and The Revenant, which became the only other feature to win awards.

Domain of the Damned wins big at Gulf Coast Film Festival
March 22, 2009
Still playing catch up! Domain of the Damned took Best Horror at the Gulf Coast Film & Video Festival in late 2008.
Laura and I joined the producers at a nice dinner reception where the award was presented to me, and I actually had an awesome conversation with Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Erin Gray.
Scars gives Sweatshop the cover!

Pop quiz: what do I have in common with Neil Marshall?
OK, besides having the coolest chick on the block, and a penchant for monsters and post-apocalyptic mayhem... that's right, I've got the cover of Scars Magazine, baby! Kenny Haner (Subsociety Photography) took the shot right after we wrapped a particularly bloody day of shooting.
Fangoria awards Domain DVD of the Month.
March 11, 2009
It is with enormous pride that I make the announcement that my debut feature film Domain of the Damned was named Fangoria Magazine's DVD of the Month for January 2009. It should be noted that this was not a major DVD release. We put the DVD together completely in-house and marketed it exclusively online. This is the first time Fangoria Magazine has bestowed this title on, what is essensially, a completely indie release. Thanks guys! ~Stacy Davidson

Series of interviews at FatallyYours.Com
April 9, 2008
There's a fantastic new series of interviews with the sick minds behind Sweatshop on FatallyYours.Com. [ Fatally-Yours.com ]
While most well adjusted people have been stuffing themselves with turkey and putting up their Christmas trees, I've been hard at work with the Odyssee Pictures crew shooting a new splatter movie to utterly horrify the world (and by "the world", I mean the important part of the world--the horror fanatics) sometime next year. SWEATSHOP is based on a Ted Geoghegan (Nikos, Barricade, Fearmakers) script. I co-wrote and directed, and served as cinematographer. Laura Bryant is the producer, with Mel House (Witchcraft 13, Closet Space) co-producing.
The film stars Domain of the Damned alumni Ashley Kay, Naika Malveaux, Krystal "Vampirita" Freeman, and Brent D. Himes who also appeared in Mr. Hell. Joining them are Melanie Donihoo (Closet Space, Sway), Peyton Wetzel (Closet Space, The Flesh Keeper), Danielle Jones (Closet Space), jazz singer Julin (Spirit Camp), and newcomer Vincent Guerrara.
Of course, you can't make a horror omelet without breaking some skulls, so filling the shoes of the maniacal, bloodthirsty murderer known only as "The Beast" is Jeremy Sumrall, who many horror convention goers may know as proprietor of the horror merchandise boutique Necrobilia.
Odyssee Pictures has just launched a brand new online store where you can grab all sorts of nifty swag, including shirts of all types and colors (including black!) with various combinations of the Amulet and full color Domain of the Damned poster designs!
We also have several posters and prints, buttons, magnets, mousepads, and lots of other cool stuff with more to come, so check it out! [ more ]
Domain of the Damned World Premiere, March 21
February 15, 2007
Domain of the Damned (A.K.A "Necrophobia"-original working title) is a drive-in style horror feature that delivers everything from creeping phantoms in the night and a demented giallo slasher, to a horde of undead carnival freaks and supernatural demons from the world of the dead.
Cast and crew will be on hand for the world premiere of Domain of the Damned, including writer/director Stacy Davidson and star Jude Hickey. The black carpet event will be held on March 21 2007, at the historic River Oaks Cinema, at 2009 West Gray in Houston, Texas.
Praises for Domain of the Damned's Morgan McCarthy
January 19, 2007
The Houston Press has just written a raving review for Morgan McCarthy's (Domain of the Damned, Closet Space, The Fleshkeeper) stage performance in Bell, Book and Candle.
"Casting directors take note: There's a new face in town (new to us, anyway), and it belongs to one of the most strikingly original actors we've seen in a long time -- Morgan McCarthy, now setting the stage afire at Country Playhouse as the enchantingly sexy witch Gillian in John Van Druten's 1950 romantic comedy. Young McCarthy, fresh out of the University of St. Thomas, needs no potions nor spells to bewitch, bother and bewilder; she performs her theatrical magic without tricks and so totally inhabits her character, it's difficult to tell where her prodigious powers might lead."
You can see the show currently at the Country Playhouse through February 3rd.
Closet Space: exclusive photos
December 27, 2006
Looks like I missed one more great news story, this time showing off some really demented effects work on Upstart Filmworks' Closet Space at Bloody-Disgusting.Com! Just to be clear, we're not talkin' Visual Odyssee CG work here, this is an example of the good ol' fashioned practical effects from Oddtopsy FX. Mel has allowed me into his Fort Knox-like editing room a few times for shot turn-over sessions, showing me quite a bit of the movie in the process, and I can assure you that you ain't seen nothin' yet. We're only now beginning to work on the CG shots, and the guys at Oddtopsy have really set our bar high if we're to match their quality... not to mention their unnerving level of utter depravity.
Domain of the Damned and Closet Space in the news
December 14, 2006
If you have a copy of Fangoria #258 (the Saw III issue) handy, flip it open to the Terror Teletype (page 26) and you'll see a great mention of Odyssee Pictures:
Real terrors beset a roadside "haunted house" in [Domain of the Damned] (previously "Necrophobia"), writer/director Stacy Davidson's homage to both silent films and extreme 80's terror.
The story then segways into another great mention for Texas filmmaker Mel House, who has also been all over the web lately with his Lovecraftian nightmare Closet Space. See the breaking Fangoria story with some fantastic gore shots (and believe me folks, this is just the tip of the iceberg in this flick!) here, and a follow up story with the new illustrated poster here!. The articles also mention Domain of the Damned (A.K.A. "Necrophobia") and Stacy Davidson, who served as lighting director and visual effects supervisor.
Dread Central also posted a great story on the poster, along with some very kind words. Read it here!

Domain of the Damned (A.K.A. "Necrophobia") has been featured on Fangoria.Com! Managing Editor Michael Gingold gave us a fantastic write-up, with lots of juicy new details about the film and exclusive, never before seen photos which you can only see at Fangoria! Check it out... [ more ]
Texas horror triple threat
August 26, 2006
Texas studios Odyssee Pictures and Upstart Filmworks (Closet Space) have joined forces with Nott Entertainment (The Quick and the Undead) to film Gerald Nott's next vision of pure terror in Texas. Although the title is still under wraps, we can tell you that it will feature Gerald Nott as writer/director, Odyssee's Stacy Davidson as cinematographer, and Upstart's Mel House as production manager & 2nd unit director. The movie will be shot in HD, and filming is set to begin in September.
According to Stacy: This is one f&@%ed up flick. After I read the script, I had to take a shower. It's sick, it's demented, I think Gerald should be locked up for writing it, and I can't wait to help him put it on screen.
Horror-Web has given us a mention in their news section, reposted from Horror-Fanatics who reported news of the site re-launch and updated their info page on the movie. I've been following these guys from the beginning, and it's been an awesome ride. They started out as a really popular horror page on MySpace, and through the strength of their fan base, grew into a website of their own. Very cool! [ more ]
Domain of the Damned (previously "Necrophobia") on esplatter
August 9, 2006
We got a mention in the esplatter news. What's interesting is that the headline actually sounds as if "Necrophobia" is Kevin Smith's new horror film, which has been all over the news for the past day or two. Check it out... [ more ]
This is as cool as it gets, folks. The fine people who are hard at work planning the next Texas Frightmare Weekend are looking for your help! They want your suggestions for guests and events that you would like to see next time around, and have posted a podcast where you can get a peak at the planning in process. TCM just started last February and is already the largest Texas horror convention, and one of the best I have ever been to! If you call, be sure to tell them you'd like to see Odyssee Pictures back with Domain of the Damned guests! [ more ]
Houston crew crashes Texas Frightmare Weekend
August 1, 2006
Witty hip-hop artist and quasi-diva impregnator K-Fed put it best when he said "y'all aint ready!" Indeed, the first annual Texas Frightmare weekend exploded onto the scene with huge horror personalities, tons of memorabilia, brand new visions of terror running constantly in the screening room, and two metal shows to top it off!
Guests and venders included Odyssee Pictures with Domain of the Damned (A.K.A. "Necrophobia"), Upstart Films with Witchcraft 13, Nott Entertainment with The Quick and the Undead, Sid and Ma Haig, Bill Mosely, Irwin Keyes, Debbie Rochon, Tom Savini, Joe Bob Briggs, Lloyd Kaufman & Troma Films, The Horror Channel, and believe me this list could go on and on and on.
